The following terms and conditions apply to anyone using this Website, or anyone booked to attend an Assessment or Course.
Definitions
| Agent | A person or organisation which either arranges an Assessment or a Course on behalf of the Tutor, or which the Tutor has identified as one of the Tutor's Agents via the Website. |
| Assessment | Either the TS Professional Tutoring Certificate Assessment or the TS Advanced Tutoring Certificate Assessment |
| Cancellation | A confirmation that a Tutor will not attend a previously arranged Assessment or Course, or a Tutor not being present for an arranged Assessment or Course. |
| Cancellation Time | The time when a Tutor or an Agent Cancels an Assessment or a Course. If the Tutor or Agent emails TS to Cancel an Assessment or a Course then the Cancellation Time will be the time when a person acting on behalf of TS updates the Website to indicate that the Tutor or Agent has Cancelled. |
| Course | Either the TS Professional Tutoring Course or the TS Advanced Tutoring Course |
| Course Administrator | The person in charge of running a Course on behalf of TS. The Course Administrator will be identified at the beginning of each Course |
| TS | The Tutoring Standards Company Limited. Registered Company No: 09584666 |
| Tutor | Any person scheduled to attend an Assessment or a Course, or who has completed an Assessment or a Course. |
| Tutor ID | A unique combination of 12 alphanumeric characters assigned to a Tutor when he/she first registers on the Website |
| Website | Any webpage accessed via the domain tutoringstandards.com |
A Assessments
If the Tutor does not attend an Assessment on time for any reason then he/she will be required to pay for another Assessment if the Tutor or the Tutor's Agent would like to book another Assessment for the Tutor. The Tutor may be invited to attend another Assessment without paying for it, but this is at the discretion of TS, and TS reserves the right to rescind this invitation.
In the case that an Assessment takes place at a public venue, if the Tutor has not uploaded a photo through the website which bears a reasonable likeness to the Tutor then TS accepts no responsibility if the Assessor and Tutor are unable to locate each other.
TS reserves the right to postpone an Assessment. In this instance, the Tutor will be entitled to arrange another Assessment, or receive a full refund of the amount paid for the Assessment which was postponed.
In the case that an Assessment takes place at a public venue, TS accepts no responsibility for any damage or injury incurred by the Tutor or to the Tutor's property during the Tutor's journey to and from the Assessment, and during the time when the Tutor is waiting for the Assessment.
If, through no fault of TS, an Assessment cannot be conducted online or at the arranged Assessment venue, TS will attempt to arrange an alternative. However, if this cannot be done then the Tutor is entitled to book another Assessment, or to receive a full refund of the amount paid for said Assessment.
TS reserves the right to begin a Tutor's Assessment up to 10 minutes after the Assessment is scheduled to begin. It is the Tutor's responsibility to be able to complete the Assessment whether it starts at the scheduled time, 10 minutes later, or at any time in between.
It is the Tutor's responsibility to be prepared for the Assessment. If the tutor does not have a driving licence or a passport, or if, in the Assessor's opinion, the tutor has not prepared sufficiently to complete the Assessment then the Assessment will be Cancelled in accordance with the above Cancellation policy.
TS reserves the right to pass information regarding the Tutor's conduct during an Assessment to any and all Agents of the Tutor.
If the venue for an Assessment is made unavailable at short notice then the Tutor will be notified by email. If another suitable venue is available then the aforementioned email will give details of where the Assessment will now take place. In this instance, if the Tutor does not attend the Assessment as a result of not knowing the details of the replacement venue then the Tutor will be entitled to arrange another Assessment. However, TS accepts no responsibility for any costs incurred by the Tutor as a result of the change of venue.
B Training Courses
If the Tutor does not attend a Training Course for any reason then he/she will be required to pay for another Training Course if the Tutor or the Tutor's agent would like to book another Training Course for the Tutor. The Tutor may be invited to attend another Training Course without paying for it, but this is at the discretion of TS, and TS reserves the right to rescind this invitation.
If the Tutor arrives late for a Training Course then the Course Administrator will allow the Tutor to be involved in the Course activities at a time which the Course Administrator deems to be appropriate.
If the Course Administrator considers a Tutor's behaviour to be detrimental to the learning of others on the Course then the Course Administrator reserves the right to remove the Tutor from the remainder of the Course.
TS reserves the right to postpone a Training Course. In this instance, the Tutor will be entitled to arrange another Training Course, or receive a full refund of the amount paid for the Training Course which was postponed. The Tutor will be informed of this by email.
TS accepts no responsibility for any damage or injury incurred by the Tutor or to the Tutor's property during the Tutor's journey to and from the Training Course, or for the duration of the Training Course.
If, through no fault of TS, a Training Course cannot be conducted at the arranged Training Course venue, TS will attempt to arrange an alternative. However, if this cannot be done then the Tutor is entitled to book another Training Course, or to receive a full refund of the amount paid for said Training Course.
TS reserves the right to pass information regarding the Tutor's conduct during a Training Course to any and all Agents of the Tutor.
C Privacy
Upon completing an Assessment or a Training Course the Tutor agrees to his/her name, date of birth, photo, Assessment result and/or Training Course description being available on the Website. The Tutor's Tutor ID must be known by the person wishing to view the information.
The information stored about the Tutor is limited to the Tutor's name, date of birth, email address, postal address, Tutor ID and a record of the Assessments and Training Courses which the Tutor has attended or will attend. TS does not seek to provide any indication of the Tutor's performance or conduct outside of TS Assessments and Training Courses.
